In a spell of nostalgia I reread the series and..... loved every one of the stories yet again. I have no hesitation in saying that the joy of reading books wherein I have no fear of cuss words OR any sexual activities leaves me in a euphoria of contentment. These books are undeniably educational and have the added bliss of being beautifully written. Ah for a return of innocence and delight in the striving for true goodness. However, I was very sad that I didn't look at the preview before purchasing. Many of the words in this edition run together. I purchased 'what Katy did next' to find that the text was a repeat of 'what Katy did'. Even the description indicates a story that I did not receive when my book was downloaded. Please fix. (Haven't come across this with any other Kindle books). Although the story itself was written for children, the language is a bit old fashioned and heavy going which could detract from the story for some readers; maybe has more appeal for adults like myself who enjoyed these stories as children (I actually tried to read it when I was much younger and gave up, but enjoyed persevering with it this time). This happens several times on each page. Then at the end of the story, it jumps back to several chapters before the end and repeats these chapters, so you don't know that you have reached the end of the story and the impact of the last sentence is completely lost. This is a children's classic bought for a young niece, and the production used dense small type making it look like a turgid thesis. We had to buy another edition - this was money totally wasted.
